I have a set night and morning routine that was adapted from a bunch of different YouTube channels. If you haven’t read my productive night routine, I will link it at the end of this blog.
The first thing I do when I wake up is make my bed. This is a new thing that has been added to my routine. I used to just get up and go and I realized how messy my room looked when I would come home. It definitely helps to keep my bedroom looking clean and neat. Also, once I get out of my bed and make it, I am way less likely to lay back down.
The second thing I do in the morning is workout. Up until a couple of months ago, I did Pilates for about 15 minutes every morning. I signed up for BeachBody over the summer and have been putting in my 30 minutes each morning. I have really liked working out in the morning because it helps to wake me up. If I save the workout for the evening, I am far less likely to do it. I originally considered adding it to my night routine, but that just doesn’t work for me personally.
The third thing I do is shower and get dressed. As I said in my productive night routine, I always lay my outfit out the night before. It saves me so much time and limits my decision making early in the morning. I also have a pretty standard work makeup, so that doesn’t take me too long.
Next, I go downstairs and eat my breakfast. My breakfast is also meal prepped usually and by the time my Keurig is done brewing my tea/coffee, my food is usually warmed in the microwave. On days that my breakfast is not meal prepped, I usually will have a bowl of cereal or oatmeal.
That’s it, I’m on my way out the door. The total process takes about an hour and a half. If I worked out in the evening, the whole process would only take an hour. Having my bags packed and outfit laid out the night before definitely saves a lot of time in the morning.
